General Motors Maintenance 1

Recommended when the oil change light appears on vehicles equipped with the GM Oil Life Monitoring System

-Change engine oil and filter. Reset oil life system (an Emission Control Service)

- Lubricate chassis components

- Visually check for any leaks or damage

- Inspect engine air cleaner

- Rotate tires and check inflation pressures and wear

- Perform complete brake system inspection including:

· - Brake lines and hoses for binding, leaks, cracks, chafing, etc.

· - Inspect disc brake pads for wear and rotors for surface condition

· - Inspect other brake parts including calipers, parking brake, etc.

- Check engine coolant, windshield washer fluid levels and add fluid as needed

- Inspect fuel system for damage or leaks

- Inspect exhaust system for loose or damaged components

- Starter switch check

- Automatic transmission shift lock control system check

- Ignition transmission lock check

- Parking brake and automatic transmission park mechanism check

· - Inspect all pipes, clamps and fittings

· - Pressure test cooling system and cap, radiator and A/C condenser

· - Inspect heater hoses, belts and vacuum lines

- Replace windshield wiper blades

- Lubricate all weather strips and door locks
